The fans at Korakuen Hall got treated to a red hot round two as the quarterfinals come into focus
Track the full tournament progress, brackets, and upcoming schedule at the 2026 Cinderella Tournament Hub.
The fans packed into Korakuen Hall on Saturday, March 8 were feeling a little more tension in the air after the first round played out at Chunichi Hall as the 2026 Cinderella Tournament started to get a little more serious. The legendary venue played host to this year’s Stardom Cinderella Tournament second round, and the quarterfinals are now set. As always, here’s the quick link to just the results with no fluff.
With only eight competitors having survived a fast-paced and spirited opening two rounds, things will start to get a little more serious. From here on out, matches will no longer have a 15-minute time limit. The over-the-top rope elimination still applies through the finals, but now you’ll start to see some longer bouts with more time to develop and less focus on getting to the finish quickly.
If you missed Day 1 or Day 2, you can click on either to check out the full results.
In addition to all the second-round tournament matches, we also got some bonus action fearing those wrestlers who have been eliminated or have a bye in the second round.
10-Person Tag Match - Bea Priestley, Momo Kohgo, Yuria Hime, India Sioux, and Tabata vs Hazuki, Hanako, Xena, Rina Yamashita, and Akira Kurogane
The ‘loser’s bracket’ match, but fun nevertheless.
Hanako and India Sioux started off with a bit of a lucha display until Tabata came flying in from off camera with a dropkick. Everybody ganged up on Hazuki for a bit until things evened out. Xena went around chopping all her opponents as her teammates held them in place. She tagged out to Hanako and Yuria flipped out. She really wants that future title.
Nevertheless, Hanako beat the hell out of her until Yuria hit a … pop up senton(?) and then hooked a choke. That lasted about ten seconds before it once again became a clusterfuck. Again, things cleared out. Hanako hit Yuria with a brain buster for a two count. Bea, Momo, and Yuria wound up triple teaming Akira but got caught. India and Tabata did some lucha dives to clear everyone back out. Hanako took out the remainder of the pile with a tope suicida of her own, and it was down to Bea and Akira.
Bea went for a backslide and got near fall, and then Akira started punching her in the face and hit an enzuigiri. The rookie missed a couple of moves and was caught by Bea in a cradle driver for the three count.
After the bout, Hazuki had some words for India Sioux regarding their CMLL rivalry and Hanako and Yuria Hime spoke intensely about each one’s interest in the Future belt.
3-Way Trios Match - Saori Anou, Yunamon, and Aya Sakura vs Saki Kashima, Lady C, and Anne Kanaya vs Maki Itoh, Kikyo Furusawa, and Fuwa-chan
Who reading this didn’t go into show this excited to see what happened between Itoh and Fuwa? Aya Sakura and Maki Itoh got second round byes after two double eliminations in their bracket, so they got to work a fun little tag match for the YouTube crowd.
Saori Anou entered the match looking extremely dejected, as she has revenge against Fuwa on her mind after their double elimination. Saki and Fuwa-chan started things, but Saori quickly jumped into things to try and take her pound of flesh from Fuwa. After Anou was satisfied with how things were going, she tagged in Yunamon and went outside to check on Saki, who … is Saki.
The High Speed champ and Fuwa went bac ck and forth for a little bit. Fuwa hit her with a suplex and tagged in Maki. As she mugged for the crowd, Lady C jumped her. Trusty Kikyo was there to make the save and neutralize Lady C. Maki and Kikyo did the ‘Who’s the cutest in the world?’ corner punch spot. Kikyo’s punches always look so bad.
Maki hits the falling headbutt and then chaos ensues. Maki hits the ropes but is caught by Yuna, who repeatedly clotheslines Itoh and Lady C before hitting a guillotine leg drop on Maki. Lady C broke up the pin, then Maki and Yuna tried to work together against Lady C. Lady C is apparently too powerful. Maki didn’t care. She made fun of her being called Lady C.
After a little bit more chaos, Anne and Aya wound up in the ring, with Anne going for a single-leg Boston crab while Saori and Saki had a moment. Aya disappeared, and Anne and Kikyo exchanged forearms. Aya reappeared from the top with a cross body on Anne. Kikyo put her in an ankle lock, then everyone came back in to brawl again.
Maki and Kikyo hit Yuna and Saori with double stunners. Maki then hit Fuwa-chan with an accidential friendly fire stunner. Anne nearly stole the win, but she was rolled up by Aya for the three count.
After the match, Maki put Fuwa in a sleeper hold as she dragged her to the back.
Cinderella Tournament Second Round Matches
Ranna Yagami vs Hanan
Hanan went into this match as one of the favorites among fans to win the tournament. Knowing she was a severe underdog, Ranna went for a quick and dirty over-the-top win. Hanan fought her way out of the jam, but ultimately got her head kicked off, kicking out at two.
Yagami worked the arm and kicked her head off again for another two count, then went for an armbar. Just after getting it fully locked in, Hanan forced a rope break.
Hanan hit a cross body to turn the tables briefly, but the kicks of Yagami continued to wear her down. Hanan made a desperate comeback and ate another boot to the face for her troubles. Every time Hanan seemed to be getting the upper hand, Ranna’s kicks brought her efforts to a halt.
Eventually, Ranna’s luck ran out. She missed a spinning heel kick, and Hanan took control definitively for the first time. Yagami got Hanan in yet another arm submission, but another rope break saved the day. Ranna’s growing frustration started to become visibly apparent, and she was getting sloppy and missing her big kick attempts.
Hanan finally caught her with the bridging belly-to-back suplex and the pinfall victory to advance. Maki Itoh will be waiting for her in the quarterfinals on March 11.
Rian vs Natsupoi
Rian got a feel-good win in the first round against High Speed champion Yunamon, but Natsupoi posed a major veteran threat standing in the way of her Cinderella story.
Natsupoi offered a sportsmanlike handshake to start things out, and then they went straight into it, exchanging and reversing pinning combinations. Rian came dangerously close to a three count.
Poi got to work on her submission game again, having said she wanted to focus more on scoring tap out wins. Rian was game, though, and stood toe-to-toe with her opponent despite being seemingly overmatched.
Rian kept firing back with everything she had, but she couldn’t seem to keep Natsupoi down. Getting pounded repeatedly only fired Rian up, and she kept coming back for more.
After some more back and forth, the action fell to the floor, with both hitting dives. Rian got up first and rolled Natsupoi back into the ring, where she hit an overhead bridging fisherman’s suplex for two.
Natsupoi wound up on the apron after going over the top. Rian took advantage and hit a dropkick for the over-the-top rope elimination and a huge upset win out of nowhere! After the match, Natsupoi shook her hand and showed respect for the winner. Rian will face Aya Sakura in the quarterfinals.
Hina vs Azusa Inaba
Inaba was bordering on obnoxiously cocky after her victory in the first round, but Hina is a woman on a mission.
They started out with some light chain wrestling, nothing out of the ordinary. The two exchanged headlocks and basic moves while they felt each other out.
Sure enough, this resulted in yet another H.A.T.E. match where things spilled to the outside and someone got thrown into a row of chairs. Inaba drug Hina back to the ring, and match could begin in earnest.
Inaba worked her over with some kicks, and went for a cocky cover, which Hina easily kicked out of. Azusa worked her over in the corner and went for more, but Hina overpowered her with a series of slams. Hina then went for a Boston crab, but Azusa quickly reached the bottom rope.
That led to an exchange of punches in the center of the ring. The stronger Hina got the better of that exchange, with Inaba getting rocked by a right hand and whipped into the corner. Hina hit a running knee and then a dropkick for a two count. She then went for a crossface submission. Once again, Inaba was too close to the ropes and was able to force a break.
Hina got caught on the top in the corner, and Inaba knocked her down, almost scoring the victory, but Hina was able to escape and get back into the relative safety of the ring.
Azusa kicked Hina in the back of the knee then locked on a submission, continuing to try and cut down the legs of her larger opponent. She wrenched on the knee of Hina and drug her back to the center of the ring as she screamed in pain. Hina made one last desperate attempt to get to the ropes, and was able to stay alive, but heavily favoring the knee.
Despite smelling blood in the water, Inaba was still unable to score a fall. She got caught with a suplex as she tried to find a way to put Hina away. They continued with a series of reversals and nice wrestling exchanges, which ended in Inaba hitting a knee to the face, but it was only enough for a two count.
Hina went for the Fisherman’s Jackhammer, but Inaba escaped. Hina tried again, and nailed it. Inaba kicked out at two, to the delight of the live crowd.
Finally, Hina went for the finish, and hit the frog splash for three. Hina advances to the quarterfinal to face the winner of the tonight’s main event between Saya Iida and Miyu Amasaki.
Sayaka Kurara vs Tomoka Inaba
Kurara continued her relentless pursuit of Saya Kamatani and was able to defeat Inaba using her hatred as fuel. Given the story they’d been telling, it seemed to be a foregone conclusion that Kurara was winning this match. Obviously, Tomoka had other ideas.
The match had a slow start with the two exchanging moves. Inaba eventually went for the ankle lock and then began to lay the boots to her. Tomoka clearly was focused on working on the leg in this bout.
Kurara tried a springboard off the top, but her knee gave out due to the submission offense of Inaba. Tomoka followed that up with even more leg submissions, leaving Kurara screaming in pain.
Barely able to stand at this point, Inaba began to play with her food a little. That, of course, gave Kurara the opportunity to mount a comeback.
Lacking mobility, Kurara went to the ground game, locking in a choke for what seemed like eternity and slowing things down. Eventually Inaba made it to the ropes, but Kurara was locked in and went for the spear. This was countered with a knee to the face, followed by another leg submission from Inaba.
Kurara eventually escaped and countered a running knee attempt with a spear. Inaba kicked out, but Kurara hit a Michinoku driver to get the pinfall victory. Kurara will face the winner of Ami Sohrei and Rina, which incidentally was the next match on the card.
Ami Sohrei vs Rina
Rina faced a very tough first round matchup against Akira Kurogane. She didn’t get any kind of a break in the second round, facing a very game Ami Sohrei.
Early in the match, Rina went straight to the H.A.T.E. chair spot. She then whipped her into the rope and hit her over the back with a chair. Rina got her back into the ring and tossed her by her hair into the corner before choking her with her boot. The referee admonished Rina, who spit on his face.
Ami got Rina in a Boston Crab, which she then turned into a half crab. Rina struggled to the ropes for a break.
Ami then hooked Rina over the ropes and chopped the hell out of her from the apron. That was followed up by a splash into the ropes for a two count. Sohrei picked Rina up and countered a hip toss attempt, whipping Rina into the corner, before being met with a kick and a dropkick.
As Ami tried to regroup, Rina kicked her in the head and went for another pin but only got a two count. Rina went to Bret’s rope but got caught. She got away for a moment, but Ami caught her with a suplex. Rina recovered and went back to the middle rope and hit a double knee.
The Pink Devil then went to the top as Ami got back to her feet and slapped Rina in the face before hitting a superplex. Both wrestlers then took a little bit of a break to catch their breath.
Once the action picked back up, Rina nailed Ami with a high running knee lift. Sensing victory, hit another double knee but only got a two count. Rina locked in the Hydrangea in the middle of the ring, and Ami was in trouble. After a long time in the hold, she was able to get to the rope, but she was in big trouble. Ami went for a big lariat, but Rina countered into a pinning combination.
A wild exchange of big moves took place from there, with Ami finally hitting the lariat, but Rina kicked out at two.
Rina finally got the win with a slick pinning combination after barely escaping from Ami’s clutches. Rina advances to the quarterfinals for a rematch of last year’s Cinderella final against Sayaka Kurara.
Saya Iida vs Miyu Amasaki
After being dubbed Cinderella Amasaki by the defeated Rina Yamashita, Miyu came into this match as the sole representative of Neo Genesis in the entire tournament. With her unit mates out on international excursions, Yamashita took to the corner for Amasaki. Miyu really brought it against the strength and athleticism of Saya Iida.
Iida leaned into her power to control the early goings of the match. She simply manhandled Miyu for a little while, as Yamashita looked on from ringside. Saya destroyed her with chops as Miyu writhed in the corner.
Miyu eventually escaped and hit a dropkick, but Iida chopped her right back down and hit a big running elbow drop for a two count.
Miyu countered a backdrop attempt with a DDT and then a dropkick sent Saya to the outside. Miyu carefully exited through the middle rope, climbed to the top, and then hit a splash to the outside.
Both wrestlers were exhausted as they made their way back to the ring. They exchanged bit shots from their knees as they worked their way back to a vertical base, Iida’s face betraying her absolute delight in the violence.
An even back and forth exchange took place until Miyu hit a tornado DDT off the ropes. She hit a nice bridging suplex for a two count.
Iida hit a sidewalk slam then a shoulder tackle, before heading to the top rope. Miyu kicked her off and attempted to get an over the top win but was quickly neutralized once again by her stronger opponent.
Iida slowed it down with some submission wrestling and applied a dragon sleeper that took a lot out of Miyu before she was able to get to the rope.
Iida dragged her to the middle of the ring and hit a huge tackle for a two count. Miyu hit a DDT and got the win with a bridging pinfall.
